Endowed with 3km of outstanding soft sandy and palm – fringed beach with cobalt blue water, the peaceful Ngapali beach line becomes the great getaway from the hustle and bustle city life.
There are numerous water sports took place in this beautiful beach such as kayaking, diving and snorkeling. Inland activities are also variety ranging from cycling, air ballooning to golfing. In addition, coming to Ngapali, tourists can have a chance to taste the fresh and delicious seafood from the daily catching.

2. Getting there
You can get to Ngapali beach by airplane from Yangon, Bagan and Inle Lake. The fights will land at Thadwe airport which is 7 km from the beach. There are many airline companies offers the regular fights both connecting and direct to Ngapali beach such as Myanmar National Airline, Air KBZ and Air Bagan. It will take about 55 minutes for a flight from Yangon to Thadwe. The price depends on the booking time and airline companies.
Ngapali beach can also be reached by bus from Yangon which costs about 16 USD. But considering the not comfortable12 hour journey on bumpy roads, this means of transport is not recommended.
Due to the off shore location, Mergui Archipelago is rather hard to reach but only by flight. Air KBZ, APEX Airlines and Myanmar National Airlines offer regular flights to Myeik airport from Yangon, Kawthaung and Dawei.
Bus is technically possible but takes a lot of time and transfers. Tourists in Thailand can get to this place by crossing the border at Ranong into Kawthaung. To be informed that foreigners are not allowed to get to this group of islands independently. It requires special permit and usually handled by tour operators.
There are not many lodgings or beach resorts in Myeik archipelago regardless its potential tourism. 3 main places to stay in this area are Myanmar Andaman Resort on MacLeod island, Nyaung Oo Phee resort and Boulder Bay eco resort on Boulder which are quite expensive.
In contrast, Ngapali beach provides a wide variety of accommodations from cheap, mid – range to luxury resorts which give more choices to the tourists.
