Upon arrival at the airport, you will be picked up and transferred to the hotel for check in. After that, stroll around the city of Dawei for a glimpse of local life and interesting attractions.
Being the capital of Tavoy division in the south of Myanmar, the city remains charming with a long lasting history and beautiful colonial styled buildings throughout the city.
Joining our tour, you will have a special chance to explore the traditional medicine in the southern Myanmar. You will also make a stop at old colonial buildings to get a closer look at the fascinating architecture dating back a long time ago.
Learning more about local culture is also the highlight of the tour. There will be various opportunities to interact and chat with friendly locals. During your excursion, you also have a taste of unique local cuisine.
In the afternoon, continue your trip to the famous Maung Ma Gan Beach. Take your time to relax with a refreshing swim in the tranquility of nature before enjoying a delicious seafood dinner.
After a great time on the beach, head back to your hotel.
After breakfast, make your way to Myeik. Along the way, stop to visit the Shin Mok Hti pagoda to explore its long lasting architecture and admire the original bodhi tree.
The drive will take you through small villages with as many stops as you want to get a true insight into local way of life.
To get to Myeik, you need to embark on the old ferry to cross the river which offers a great opportunity for photo hunting. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant along the way. Upon arrival in the late afternoon, spend the rest of the day relaxing.
After breakfast, start your exploration of Myeik – one of the largest fishing towns in Myanmar. Visiting the town, you have a great chance to learn more about its incredibly interesting history which produces everything for the fishing industry. For practical experience, you will have a visit to a softshell crab and a lobster farm to get a closer look at the stunning fishing industry of the region.
After that, there will be a visit to a wooden boat wharf where you can see the boats in traditional style.Take a stroll through the old colonial quarter before making a stop at the Pearl Trading Shop run for hundred years to learn about the way pearl is cultivated.
In the later afternoon, transfer to Seik Nge jetty where you embark a traditional wooden boat to Pahtaw Island to visit the reclining Buddha. Take a short hike to the top of the hill for an awesome view over the region at sunset. Lunch and dinner on your own.
After breakfast, set out your discovery of the Mergui Archipelago. From Seik Nge Jetty in Myeik, pay a short visit to a village along the way to get a closer look at the daily life of the fishermen.
Continue onto the secluded beach where you can go for a snorkel. Take your time to relax on the beach. You could explore the marine life of the ocean with a snorkel, take in the tranquility of nature in the shade on the beach or just stroll along the beach. Enjoy a packed lunch with fresh fruits and cold drinks in the beautiful setting of the beach.
In the afternoon, return to Myeik.
In the morning, take a flight to Kawthaung - a little known city which was once known as Victoria Point. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and then explore the city with a visit to the main market. At the market, you can see even Thai people crossing border for shopping.
After that, continue onto the well known King Bayinnaung statue to learn more the history behind the statue. There will be a great opportunity for stunning photos of the southern part of Myanmar – which is just near the Victoria point.
Make your way to Mali Wan Waterfall where you have a traditional lunch in the beautiful setting of its park.
After lunch, visit the mountain locally named 5-5-5. From the hill, you can enjoy the panoramic sunset views over the town as well as the nearby stunning Mergui Archipelago Islands.
Lunch and dinner on your own.
After breakfast, leave for the market in the downtown area. The goods sold in the market come from Thailand. Make a stop at a busy water front to observe long tail boats carrying goods from and to Thailand. Then, say goodbye to Kawthaung and take a departure flight to Yangon.
