Welcome in Myanmar. On your arrival in Yangon, you will be warmly greeted by your local guide and transferred to your hotel for check in (Note: Your room is at your disposal from 14:00 onwards. Early check in is subject to availability).

In this morning, after breakfast in your hotel, you will set off to get your very first experience in Myanmar, an ancient Buddhist country with unique traditions still hold over all the generations. Its artisans own those skillful hands and the the city itself is authentic as you can hardly find somewhere else. Begin your trip with the renowned Shwedagon Pagoda. Legends have it that this gilded pagoda has been standing for 2,600 years, making it the oldest historical pagoda in the world. Proceed to the Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda, with the highlight of the reclining Buddha with a length of 72 meters.
It is time for a lunch break, which you will take with delicious Burmese food in a local restaurant. Afterwards, you will enjoy a walk through the Bogyoke Aung San Market, former known as Scott market, to discover shops filled with antiques, old coins, Burmese jade and handicrafts. The afternoon will bring you some local experience in one of the popular Myanmar tea shops with a local writer and former colleague of Nobel Peace Laureate, Aung San Suu Kyi. In the evening, you will join a special welcome dinner hosted by Myanmar Authentique.

Today you will take an early transfer to Yangon airport for a flight to Heho. Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by your local guide and take a drive for around one hour through a scenic path to Nyaung Shwe. Explore the Shwe Yan Pyay Monastery, which reaches back to the 19th-century and is entirely constructed of teak wood. Do not miss out a visit at one of the well-known Shan paper workshop. After lunch (on your own account), embark a private motorboat and start your discovery of Inle with all its greatest highlights, including the ingenious floating gardens, Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, a local shrine with five small gilded images of the Buddha and Nga Phe Kyaung monastery. At the end, transfer to your hotel for check in. Here, you have the rest of the day free at your leisure.

After breakfast, you will pay a visit to the local market, and with a little luck, the Five-Day Market for the chance to observe daily activities of the local hill tribe people in their traditional dresses. Your next visit is dedicated to a blacksmith workshop and a weaving factory. After contemplating the skilful work of the artisans, you will have the opportunity to discover your own abilities with a try to make a cheroot (Burmese cigar) on a cigar workshop in Nampan village. Enjoy some tasty authentic Intha dishes, which recipes have been passed down through all the generations, at the Intha Heritage House. Then comes the highlight of today, the private Intha boat race. Marvel at the coordinated effort of the 20 participants on each boat and the traditional single-leg rowing technique while you are snipping on an afternoon tea.

After early breakfast, you will be transferred to the Heho airport for a short flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival, head to Ava, also called Inwa, the former royal capital of Burma during the centuries from 14 to 19, but series of earthquakes in the year 1839 totally destroyed this city. Here, your horse cart is already waiting for you to bring you around the ruins, including Maha Aungmye Bonzan Monastery, Bagaya Monastery and the Watch Tower. Afterwards, come back to Mandalay for the picture of evening prayers at Shwe Kyin Monastery. Your day ends with a delicious dinner at your hotel.

On this morning, you will discover some further attractions of Mandalay. Admire the Kuthodaw Pagoda with more than 700 marble slabs inscribed with Buddhist religious texts. Next you will visit a gold leaf workshop and Mahamuni Pagoda, a major Buddhist pilgrimage site. Then, you will enjoy the real deluxe of your journey with the ‘Sanctuary Ananda’ for four nights on the legendary Irrawaddy river. After lunch break, you will disembark the cruise for a visit of Sagaing, renowned for its monasteries and pagodas. Continue to Amarapura, famous for its silver workshops. Enjoy a trip a local boat to the U Bein Bridge — the oldest and longest teakwood bridge in the world — where you will admire the beauty of the sunset.

You have the opportunity to take an early morning meditation on deck before breakfast. Then you go out to discover the Sinjun village. Return to your cruise for some relaxation on deck or high class spa treatment. Afterwards, you will join a special talk about the history and plans for the future of this golden land of the pagodas. Come to the end with a longgyi (traditional Burmese cloth worn by men and women) demonstration.

After breakfast on board, you will leave your cruise for an exploration of the Pakokku Village. Here, you will visit the local market, where the village residents gather and exchange their goods. Then, you will unfold the secrets of Burmese cuisine in a cooking class for delightful, and especially tasty, experience. Afterwards, climb on horse cart and head to the Gunee Temple complex for the amazing sunset. Transfer back to your for dinner with a unique traditional Burmese musical performance.

Today you are to wake up early to take the breathtaking hot air balloon ride (seasonally and weather depending) over Bagan as the sun throws its first rays over the golden pagodas on the huge plain. Then, you will explore Nyaung Oo Market, a typical market which remained in Myanmar for centuries, and Ananda Temple, the best preserved temple in Bagan from the year 1090. This morning, you will further discover Phwa Saw Village for a special chance to interact with the locals. By midday you return to ‘Ananda’ for lunch. After some short rest, your afternoon will take you to the little Wetkyi-In village, where the wonderful Kubyaukgyi Temple, famous for its ancient murals, is waiting for you to be explored. Fulfill your excursion with the Shwezigon Pagoda, home to Buddha’s collarbone, frontal bone and tooth gathered from various countries. Tonight, you will be served a special candlelit dinner on Bagan’s sandbank.

On this morning, it is time to disembark the cruise and fly back to Yangon. Upon your arrival, you meet your local guide again, who will take you to Musmeah Yeshua, the last standing Jewish synagogue in Myanmar, built during colonial era. Afterwards, you enjoy a farewell lunch in a great local restaurant. You have the rest of the day free at your leisure.
