Upon arrival at the airport, you will be transferred to the hotel for check in and set off your city exploration of Myeik – one of the largest fishing towns in Myanmar. Visiting the town, you have a great chance to learn more about its incredibly interesting history which produces everything for the fishing industry. For practical experience, you will have a visit to a softshell crab and a lobster farm to get a closer look at the stunning fishing industry of the region.
Take a stroll through the old colonial quarter before making a stop at the Pearl Trading Shop run for hundred years to learn about the way pearl is cultivated.
In the later afternoon, transfer to Seik Nge jetty where you embark a traditional wooden boat to Pahtaw Island to visit the reclining Buddha. Take a short hike to the top of the hill for an awesome view over the region at sunset.Lunch and dinner on your own.
After breakfast, set out your discovery of the Mergui Archipelago. From Seik Nge Jetty in Myeik, pay a short visit to a village along the way to get a closer look at the daily life of the fishermen. Continue onto the secluded beach where you can go for a snorkel. Take your time to relax on the beach. You could explore the marine life of the ocean with a snorkel, take in the tranquility of nature in the shade on the beach or just stroll along the beach. Enjoy a packed lunch with fresh fruits and cold drinks in the beautiful setting of the beach.
In the afternoon, return to Myeik.
After breakfast, depart for Dawei. You will board the old ferry for crossing outside of Myeik to get a true glimpse of local life.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant along the way. The drive will take you through small villages with as many stops as you want to explore the interesting lifestyle of the locals.
Being the capital of Tavoy division in the south of Myanmar, the city remains charming with a long lasting history and beautiful colonial styled buildings throughout the city.
Upon arrival, check in your hotel for a rest. If time permits, in the evening you will visit Tanintharyi Regional Museum to explore its stunning collection of bronze coins, portraits or wooden ancient Buddha images. You also have great opportunity to get to know more about the history of Moken with fascinating sculptures and pictures. Alternatively, you just relax with a stroll along the river front of Dawei.
Today you have plenty time to explore the famous sights of the town and get in touch with local people. There will be various opportunities to interact and chat with friendly locals. Continue your journey to San Maria Beach to learn more about the way people can make a living in Dawei.
You may be amazed by the plenty of rubber plantation throughout the region. Make a stop at one of the plantations to learn more how the white rubber sheets are made. In addition to rubber trees, there is another large industry in the area – dried fish. Pay a visit to one of the fishing villages to get a closer look at this fascinating industry.
Take a short break for lunch on front of Myawyik Pagoda before relaxing on the beach with a refreshing swim or a leisurely stroll along the beach. The beach is still untouched and less visited by most of the tourist, so do not miss the chance to soak up the tranquility of the wild nature.
Make a stop at hot springs on the way back to wash the salt of the beach.In the late afternoon, arrive at the famous Maung Ma Gan Beach. Take your time to relax with a refreshing swim in the tranquility of nature before enjoying a delicious seafood dinner.
After a great time on the beach, head back to your hotel.
After breakfast at your hotel, spend time exploring the region until your departure flight. You could stroll around the main market for some shopping. You also have chance to get to know more traditional medicine used widely in the region. Pay a visit to the small clay pottery village to observe beautiful products. After all, transfer to the airport for the departure flight.
