It is bout 1-hour drive from the city center of Yangon and located on a small island in Hmaw Wun Creek, a tributary of Yangon River. How to get to Yele Pagoda
The only way to get into Ye Le pagoda is by the boat. One special thing when coming to the pagoda is the tourists are required to sit at a larger boat which differs from the smaller ones that the local people can take due to security purposes. Most of the small boat rows without life jacket, hence, the visitors should get the life jacket for safety. The ride from the mainland to the Island Pagoda talks approximately a minute ride. The entrance fee to get into this pagoda is USD2.
As almost Buddhist monuments’ regulations, footwear is not permitted. Consequently, the guests have to remove their footwear in the boat and leave the shoes in the boat. However, they should do carry plastic shopping bags, pop their shoes into these bags, and carry with them during their trips. It is a good experience for the travelers when it comes to Ye Le Pagoda.
